This week in church I have been challenged to look at Romans 4 and understand the kind of faith Abraham had in God to give him a son. It was sheer simplicity and knowledge that God is who He says He is and He does what He says He will do. I was then challenged with Psalm 100 on thankfulness.
Acknowledge that Yahweh is God. He made us, and we are His — His people, the sheep of His pasture.– PSALM 100: 3 –
The God of the universe saved mankind from sin so that He could have relationship with His creation. If God created the world or if God created evolution to create the world, His sole purpose was to love the created. We serve a good good father that loves us. That is the definition of who we are: humans loved by God. Nothing else. Then God says, “I want to save you from the wickedness that encompasses your being and untie the ropes of your hands and feet so you can walk and dance with me in joy everlasting”. So He sent His Son to preach and teach the truth. He then died as the eternal sacrifice for our sins and saved us from the punishment of hell. It doesn’t end there. God says, “Do whatever you want. Know that I am the truth and the only way to Heaven. Have faith in me and I will save you from your sins”. Have faith… Faith is a type of belief that sparks deep within a soul and causes change and perspective to enter in. Desires, lifestyles, and people change and that is a very good thing.
However faith is a choice. You can believe in God and believe in sinful humans. It’s not enough to believe. Faith is a choice to hope in God and acknowledge His truth and goodness which leads to behavior change not personality but behavior. So choose to believe with no doubt and in complete assurance that God is in control of everything. He sees the bigger picture and He loves us all so much and gives us the gift of faith and hope in Him so that we can see the evidence of Him in our lives.
Friends be of good courage and have faith in the true and ultimate power of Jesus Christ. Love you all xoxox
