Lately I have been reminded by my mentors and friends that God is good all the time. In that I realized what that really means. We say all the time God is good and God is good all the time. It is a sweet encouragement that has been used to an almost point where it has been watered down. God is good all the time. Let’s dissect it. God. God is all knowing powerful being that surpasses time and existence because He is. That’s amazing and wonderful. All of our superheroes had to be randomly made into themselves, but God is so powerful that He was there before we were. Is. which means being or a current status. If you say is about God everyday that means he does not change. Good. Now this is a hard one because goodness is a perception today but let’s look at goodness biblically.
Genesis 1
10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
And God saw that it was good.
And God saw that it was good.
This continues as God creates mankind and sees that it is good. So what does this tell us about the word good? Anything that God does is good. His perception of good is the only one that matters. So when we think of our God being good, we have to see Him as an artist in the beginning creating and drawing out the map of the world. We have to see Him picking and choosing where the animals will go and we have to trust that He created our lives on this Earth and so therefore it is good. Goodness brings glory to God. All the time. We know that God is outside of time but He has gifted us with time on the Earth. So therefore in our sense of time God is good. By saying all the time we acknowledge that God is never changing. He is Himself always. He does not play games to create other issues but He is good all the time. So here is the revelation that I am coming to. God (the Creator of the Universe, Father, Designer of the World, Planner of my Life) is (always being in a stature of) good (a very nature of Himself experienced by glorifying Him) all the time (every second, minute, day, year). If we lived in the knowledge that the Planner of our lives created the Earth with His goodness for us in mind, I think we would live a little differently! So as you go out today remember: God is good all the time.
