She Reads Truth

She Reads Truth is an app that creates study plans to keep us women reading our Bibles daily! Now I want to give a good little background to why I’m talking about how much I love them first. Now I grew up going to private Christian Schools as well as public school. However, I always find that the more immersed I am “in the world”, the more I, for myself, desire to be reading my Bible. But I would start in a book and slowly but surely fail to finish and not have the discipline to continue through it. On the other hand, I have been friends with, as well as, experienced for myself the harmful affects of life in the church building and how church family can be so easily lost. Jesus wants us to be the church together, unified:

“so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:5

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12

“And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1:22-23

With this in mind, we as the church family (not building) need to be encouraging and building and teaching and growing together. We know that there is no perfect church. However if you are experiencing a church, where you are not growing and you are not seeing the Truth of God’s Words being lived out; I encourage you to test and research until you know where you are and that you have a community of established Truth seeking people who are seek God’s Truth. The One. True. God. not any and all truth; but HIS TRUTH. For the past 8 years of my life, I have been in community with leaders and teachers who taught me to grow and seek His Truth, the only Truth of my life. As a young college student, it is hard to find a church building that also allows me to see that we are part of the global church family. As I have been seeking churches, I have found that God has built a global church family around me. One of my dearest friends, mentors, and basically big sister lives in England as a missionary and we stay in touch via social media and email. My parents are the best encouragers and teachers in my life as they teach me to grow in the love of Christ. I have 3 siblings who all graciously (sometimes not so graciously) teach me the areas of my heart that could grow a little bit. I have a God fearing boyfriend who is not afraid to show me mercy as well as humble me to see where I could love Jesus better. I have the best of friends who let me pour my heart to them and pray for me. And then I have She Reads Truth.

She Reads Truth has an app as well as adorable journals and booklets to keep women everywhere in the word. I just wanted to let others know about how much community it has brought me. I am currently reading Women of the Old Testament. There is a section for comments and thoughts from all the women who are reading the same thing as you. I spend a good 15-20 minutes in this section alone. My eyes are open to so many different things about the women in the Old Testament! Ladies, we are fierce! God made women strong and fearless! It’s amazing to be part of a huge group of people who love Jesus and are seeking the good things that He offers for life and for death. We are so lucky! Please check out She Reads Truth! And always know how wide and deep and high the love of Christ is for you!

  1. I’ve just downloaded the app and look forward to using it because I find it so difficult to find devotionals that I can actually relate to you 🙂

  2. I have had the app for a while now on my phone, but until yesterday I never looked at it much beyond the pretty wallpapers. I bought the “women in the Old Testament” devotional but have not got to it yet. I started with today’s reading from the “Women in the New Testament” and it was about the adulterous woman. The devotional was amazing. I am impressed. I have decided to make it my go-to devotional for personal time and I am excited to see what I learn. God spoke to me through the interactions, as well. He further pressed a thought that he has been showing me in other areas of life and it is sticking. I am glad to hear your impressions and thank you for sharing your thoughts with me!

    1. The Women in the Old Testament! Oh my goodness it was such a good study! I literally found out so much about myself as a woman. We tend to cling to something! We want to take care and be the best we can always, a lot of the time for the men in our life! But when we forget how much our true Father cares and sees what we do, when we lose sight of Him, we make HUGE mistakes! It was so encouraging to know this has been happening forever and will happen forever. We are not the first generation of sinful women. Thank God that He is in control! I’m so glad you are encouraged by it. Keep Reading!
