The joy of the Lord is our strength. As women we tend to bounce our emotions up and down; with no general direction or way of defining them. They are emotions, always connected to every square inch of everything we see. What excites us one day, gives us extreme anxiety the next and that’s part of being a human and imperfect and we press on. However, with yesterday’s refreshment came today’s overwhelming sense of adulthood. I found out today that I will be taking 18 units in the Fall to play a little catch up, which is part of God’s plan. So praise Him. I want to just say to my fellow working, studying, and struggling women out there; life is tough and we are strong because of the joy the Lord has given us. He is our every need and our every blessing. Everything comes in its time. Time to be refreshed and time to be overwhelmed. All of which goes together to ultimately teach us to love Jesus in a way that reflects this gracious love to others! So today I have decided to sit before the Lord today, overwhelmed and rattled by the literal 24 hour season of life change. He says two very sweet things to me:
1. “Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures. So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:18-21
2. “Then I hear You say, ‘You don’t have to do a thing Simply be with me and Let those things go They can wait another minute Wait this moment Is too sweet Please stay here with me And love on Me a little longer ‘Cause I’m in love with you’ ” Jenn Johnson Bethel Music
